For jewelry at the very highest level, Birnbaum Associates works with Belcorso Jewelry in Manhattan's diamond district.
Interview with Brian Korner
3rd generation Belcorso family member

What is your goal for Belcorso?

Our goal is simple, we want our customers to make money when they use us for their production.
We aren’t a “brand” that competes in the marketplace.   You won’t see our name on anything we produce.
Our purpose is to enhance our customer’s brand and reputation. Traditionally, we’ve created jewelry for iconic high-end stores and brands, diamond and stone houses.
You’ve frequently admired our work on the Red Carpet.  When auctioned or sold, the pieces we’ve produced over the years prove to maintain enduring value.
There are only a handful of shops in the United States capable of the level of detail and artistry we achieve.
With our recent expansion, our blending of technology and artisanship has given us the new goal of giving independent, family jewelers access to the same high-end manufacturing as our iconic customers, family to family.
We give our personal attention to each piece.
You can assure your customers they are creating an heirloom.

The Belcorso Factory

Although our factory has been in the same Manhattan location since 1956, we have recently expanded our factory to upgrade to state-of-the-art casting equipment and CAD technology.         Our experienced jewelers work with our CAD designers, casters, setters and jewelers under one roof, to integrate the latest technology with the finest in traditional European craftmenship.
We pay paramount attention to detail.

Our Production Process

When we started working with CADs 15 years ago, they were derided as crude, fit for “plumbing supplies,” not fine jewelry.
“Real jewelry” was created by painstakingly fashioning the piece directly in platinum, but we saw the great potential in CADs.
We took our skills achieved working at the bench producing pieces by hand and translated them into  the creation of CADs with a true atelier aesthetic, and the fine detail that the enhances the production of each piece.
Our artisan jewelers still work at the bench, assuring you of the best of both techniques.               Blending the best in modern technology with traditional, handmade techniques creates extraordinary jewelry in far less time and with great quality.

Our History

We are family owned and operated for three generations, since WWII.
My great grandfather and great uncle produced jewelry for the Romanian Monarchy. During World War II, they fled Europe. After World War II, the family moved to Venezuela, where they created jewelry sold in Italy.
My grandmother was part of the family business, carving wax molds, setting stones, and doing just about anything else required for the business.
In 1956, my family moved to New York and opened Belcorso. We’ve been continuously producing the highest quality jewelry ever since.
My father still works in our factory, setting major stones while passing his knowledge and skills on to the next generations. My brother Adam and I are proud to build upon on our family legacy.

When does your custom piece need the skills of Belcorso?

1. When the highest quality is required for a customer who appreciates true attention to detail, and involvement in the design of their piece. We strive to surpass even their highest expectations.
2. When creating jewelry for a center stone over three carats.
3. If your customer has an irregularly shaped stone.
We only source GREEN metals, from reliable, certified suppliers.
We use the highest level of fresh metal for each casting to minimize porosity and imperfections.           Our diamonds and colored stones are all reliably and sustainably sourced.
We give our personal attention to every piece, our family to yours.
You can assure your customers they are creating an heirloom.
